The Haunted House - by Madison & Ava

Ava, Madison and Amy are walking down the road to a halloween party but they get lost and Ava says,
“I think we are lost.”
Madison says, “should we go see if anyone is in that house?”
“This is not cool,” Ava and Amy said.
Amy, Madison and Ava walked up the stairs.
Madison said “I think it is haunted”
“Come on let's go in,” said Ava.
“No, I'm going  by myself,” said Amy.
“You can’t go in by yourself, we are coming too,” said Madison. Someone in the house called out,
“Help! Help!” The three girls ran into the house. As soon as they got in they raced up the stairs. The stairs were old and rotten, as Amy stood on one of the panel broke off and she almost fell through.
At the top of the stairs they opened a cupboard door, and to their surprise they found a little boy stuck to a chair. He had duct tape around his feet and his arms.
The girls untied him and carefully pulled off the duct tape. He said, “Thank you for rescuing me.” They all ran downstairs, taking a big leap over the hole. “BOOOOOOOO!! We got ya!!” said Luca. “It was just a prank!!” The friends all partied at the house.

Shining Star

I am always very proud of any Room 4 student who receives the shining star award, as it means that they are truly a wonderful citizen of our school. Madison was awarded this trophy after her public display of kindness and compassion on Tuesday morning at the speech finals. She stood silently with a friend in need, offering support without words. She did not make a show or a fuss, but simply stood in support. This was a wonderful display of friendship and everyone in the Library recognised it as a kind gesture. Well done Madison! You are a truly kind friend!!!

Quick write

The rickety old bridge is my only hope. Two men are chasing me. It is the only way I can loose them in time. So I step on the first piece of wood. It is the most dangerous thing I have ever done. I step again but I miss the piece of wood and I fall into the most rapid river I have ever seen in my life...I will be dead soon done...done...done

My Speech

Have you ever thought about going to the Olympic games? Well… let me tell you 3 reasons why you should not go!  There have been a lot of risks at the Olympic games in Rio this year. Like  poor accommodation, thefts, kidnappings, robberies, diseases and polluted water. Even just one of these things would stop me from going, but athletes are at risk from all of these things!

At the Rio Olympic games there have been heaps of risks to the athletes. Some athletes have been kidnapped by people and they were taken to the money machine and they were forced to take all of their money out. The Australian athletes had a fire lit in their accommodation and while they were evacuated people went in and stole their laptops, phones and money.

Some athletes have had money and phones stolen from them, while they are walking down the street. If I was at the Rio Olympics and those things happened to me I would be scared and worried.

Some of the accommodation and sporting venues were not completed properly when the athletes arrived, and may not be safe for the athletes. Some teams arrived and found out that there bathrooms and plumbing were not finished. The Kiwi team even had to finish some of these jobs themselves!

The Australian team arrived in their rooms to find wires sticking out of the wall. That is not safe at all. They wouldn’t stay in their accommodation until it was all fixed. There is also a very dangerous disease called the zika virus.  It is spread by being bitten by mosquitoes. It can easily be caught in Rio which is another danger for athletes.

Another real danger for the athletes in Rio is the polluted water. The teams who are competing in rowing, sailing, kayaking or and other water sport have to be very careful not to get any of the water in their mouths. It is so badly polluted with rubbish that just 3 teaspoons could make you very sick. I don’t think I would like to be in any sport where the water could kill me.

They should not have had the Olympic games in Rio, Brazil because Rio is a dangerous place for all of the athletes to be. Stealing, kidnapping, spreading disease and their accommodations not finished… any one of these things would have stopped me going! I can’t believe athletes went when all of these things could go wrong!

Hide and seek

The trees were making me shiver. Spiders were crawling around me. I could feel the winter snow and wind upon me. The wind was making me shiver. I could hear people coming out of their hiding spots, waiting for something to happen to them … When she had  found nearly all of us we started to panic. We were the only ones left. We were under the building. I could hear pipes leaking at the end of the  building. Then she found us. The game was done for me.
